fs wicked tickets for june 15 $179

we're heading down early, like around 5:30. there is parking under the q.e. which is accessible from the roads. we're only going early to avoid traffic (hopefully everyone's watching the game) and to ensure a parking spot under the theatre. after the show we're going to book it outta dodge like a bat outta hell. we're just off the bridge so hopefully it won't be too bad.

the parking entrance is on the cambie side right? Expect delays both in and out even though the georgia closure goes up only til cambie there will be lots of foot traffic and likely ignoring traffic lights...

it might be better off going the other direction towards chinatown to get out of downtown. hard to say but just my 2 cents.

Seriously Nate. Driving there is a very bad judgement call. Take if from someone who's been there the last three home games. 5:30 is NOT early enough. Parking near Patterson and walking from Stadium is by far your best option. 15-20 minute trip tops. Plus it will only cost you $10 round trip for both of you. That'll be cheaper than any parking you get there tonight. It took Mike 35 minutes to get through Chinatown after the game last Friday.

Then again, by the time your show ends, it might be smooth sailing.... all depends on the outcome of the game.

what is going to be bad though? traffic? parking? or both?
parking shouldn't be an issue because of the reserved theatre parking, and traffic might not be too bad because again, we're right off the bridge. i just don't want a mile long line up to get onto the skytrain.

The skytrain line up is only if you don't have tickets already. Buy a return pass and you bypass the line up. There will be a train every 2 minutes tonight. I'm not exaggerating. Every 2 minutes.

whoa.... check that.... news just reported that every single skytrain entering downtown for the last two hours have been at full capacity already. I think that it'll be ugly any way you slice it.

ok, it looks like i'll be stuck downtown for at least a week. someone check in on my kid every now and then? he might need a diaper change. kthxbai...FOREVER.

i can hearing the screaming and chanting the 19th floor above the crowd. Could actual tell what they were chanting. go canucks go and the singing the "nanana goodbye" song. Looks like some smart guys actually brought out an inflatable swimming pool to watch the game in style... good one.

good thing i drove, or i might still be... on... the skytrain on my way home haha.

riot near the theatre was dead when we got out. it was pretty mellow. they told us to drive down cambie to the bridge and leave, and not to go take more stuff out of the bay. i drove down cambie and it was blocked off. nice one. i drove around the wooden thing (whatever it's called) and left dt. it was pretty dead.

home safe now. good thing i didn't sell the tickets haha.

first half dragged. but the second kicked ass. interesting story too, but the sound made it hard to understand wtf they were saying/singing.
