fwiw, a trick that I read about to lose water weight is to sodium load first.
Here's how it works. As you add more sodium into your diet, you begin to retain water. Eventually your body will adapt to the high levels of sodium and you will begin to naturally lose some of the water weight. Then you cut the sodium from your diet. Bye-bye water. Apparently that's a trick that some bodybuilders use to get that disgusting look that they all seem to be after.
I wouldn't recommend it though.
